Nonsan Hwaji Jungang Market

Nonsan Hwaji Jungang Market is a traditional market that was registered in 1971. Located in Daegyo-dong, Nonsan, the market has a large arcade built to provide convenience to the customers, and it is equipped with modern facilities for people to shop and browse around under all weather conditions.

Ganggyeong Daeheung Market

Ganggyeong-eup located in the western part of Nonsan, Chungcheongnam-do Province is famous for the Ganggyeongpogu Port and the local salted fish and seafood. The history of the Ganggyeong Market can be traced back all the way to the late 17th century when shops began to spring up along the Ganggyeongcheon Stream. By the end of the 19th century, a large market was formed, and it was one of the three biggest markets in Joseon alongside the ones in Daegu and Pyongyang. As such, it boasts long traditions and history.

Ganggyeong Daeheung Market is a traditional market established in October 1955, with the aim of maintaining Ganggyeong’s stature as a commercial city. It was initially opened as an oiljang (a market opened every five days on certain dates), but it is now running as a permanent market, with the oiljang held on the 4th and 9th every month.

Yeonmu Ansim Market

Yeonmu Ansim Market, located in Yeonmu-eup, Nonsan, Chungcheongnam-do Provicne, was opened in 1945. Efforts are being made to hold Wednesday markets for the visitors to the ROK Army Training Center. An oiljang (a market opened every five days on certain dates) is held nearby on the 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th, and 30th every month.

Yeonsan Market

This is a small traditional market established in a commercial building in 1911. It is open on the 5th and 10th of every month. Yeonsan Market thrived in the 1950s and 1960s, with the local residents of Yeonsan-myeon as well as visitors from the nearby areas coming here to shop. However, its size began to decrease due to the decline in the rural population in the 1980s.

강경젓갈시장

Ganggyeong Jeotgal Market

This is a market that opened in the 1990s following a restoration project, with the aim of invigorating the local economy with the salted fish and seafood made in the traditional method unique to Ganggyeong. Its peak season is October when the Ganggyeong Salted Seafood Festival is held, and it is especially busy right before the gimjang (kimchi-making) season.

Yangchon Market

This is a permanent market located in Yangchon-myeon, Nonsan that was opened in 1950 and holds oiljang (a market opened every five days on certain dates). Although the market is not very big in size, it is frequently visited by the local residents, and it is a rustic place where you will be delighted by the generosity of the merchants.

It is a small market without actual shops, and a variety of goods are traded here. It is a traditional market that has been growing, thanks to the improved convenience of the transportation networks nearby.
